Woodgate & White Lake

Next Town South: Forestport |  West: Boonville |  Last Town North: McKeever & Otter Lake

White Lake
White Lake

Woodgate & White Lake are in the town of Forestport, Oneida County. This is the only part of Oneida County in the Adirondack Park boundaries. Woodgagte is just south of the Park, or green, line and Whitelake is just inside the boundary.

In White Lake the route is very curvy around the lake until the great bend to the left/south at Camp Russell Boy Scout Camp, south of the lake. Just past, south of, the bend is the Adirondack park boundary sign. Now the route is going almost perfectly north/south. When you get to the flashing light in Woodgate, you can go west there to get to Booneville on Woodgate Road, for all night services on NY 12, about 9.5 miles. But watch out, the croad has very tricky bends about 2 miles west of NY 28. Past Woodgate, NY 28 is almost a straightaway to Alder Creek, where it joins up with NY 12.
