Campgrounds

Of course, you can also rent space or trailers in various campgrounds, both public and private. Most are just open during the Summer from June through September. NYS Department of Environmental Conservation runs many campgrounds throughout the whole state, with about thirty in the Adirondack Park. There are nine along our NY 30, from Northampton in Fulton County to Meacham Lake, just south of Malone. Here is a state map of them. They offer showers and bathroom, a swimming beach, some trailer hookups and rangers. But it costs $17/night minimum, just for tents. Of course, there are many private campgrounds that may offer better rates and more facilities, but some are just for long term residents and frown on the night trade.
